day four - june 4 2011 - rock climbing, not for everyone!

ofcourse the call for "bed tea" woke me up, the desire of meeting my friends dragged me out of the tent...and again, sharing tea in my mug, laughing and joking with the gang, we set out once more for morning exercise. and if you dont get your "morning duties" over within the half an hour gap between "bed tea" and 6 15 am, well, get used to exercising on full bladder/whatever. because the strict rules spare nobody.

looking for a luxury trip in the mountains with hot water and million hours to nicely perform morning duties?....do NOT trek. hard core heavy duty rough life....with smiling and endurance....then GREAT place to go....

the thing is....to shift focus from cellphones, contacts, luxuries, comfort....to nature, beauty, the simple living and high thinking. ok maybe not high thinking ( :P)

well we got into a file, and started again for the morning exercise routine. this time less exhaustive.....
after that, ready again by 8 30 after breakfast, for today's main attraction - rock climibing and rapelling.

poohhh......i'd done that before ! but i had forgotten that it was 6-7 years ago when i was probably in a better shape than today! calmly we walked upto a large rock that stood almost 75degrees straight up. the instructor gave a demo....and i thought it looked pretty easy as such....i watched people take turns....they were finding it difficult. when my turn came...i was like OKKAYYY,.....why am i not getting the first grip!!! damn i wasnt able to haul myself up atall....i was slipping , there were no "grips" like the instructor had said! dumb rock climbing....didnt make it to the top of the rock. pathetically difficult.

tried my hand at rapelling then, basically it includes getting down from the top, with the help of ropes and carabiner....that was fun, pulled it off... :) shiva took some pics....EVIDENCE i call it.

timepass activity....after which we returned to base camp and fell into the laughing-kidding-tea-food-laughing some more--routine.

then the campfire....that night i danced to a "gujarati garba song"....brought a little tradition of my own Gujarat to the place....me with another girl Pooja and also some guys. the garba was good but cant say much about the coordination !!! these people were funny....apparently none of my gang-ies (is that a word?) knew about garba....so they called it the "wierd bulb dance" :) ofcourse i got pampered with everyone just loving it....it was fun. but they know nothing about the REAL garba of Vadodara yet....but it was fun...

and then ofcourse. Bournvita....before lights out. the next day was the most important one.
SP 33 (that was the name of my group).....left "for higher camps" the next morning. the atmosphere was solemn....and we awaited the real journey to begin...

the next day was KEY. fun and games over. now to the real thing...
xoxo
