day six - june 6 2011 - to PADRI (8900 ft)

ok so the next day...woke up to bed tea and went to the makeshift washroom thing they had put up for us....today's trek was supposed to be easy as well. relatively....but. if you ask me...this one was AS TAXING. but this trek was the MOST picturesque and beautiful one.....it started raining midway too...we all took out our rain sheets, covered up and walked again....walked some more....a beautiful jungle pathway cut through dense forest and mountainside. 2-3 places of river and wooden pool....resting places....moss covered stones and colourful flowers, butterflies...insects....the jungle smell....and sounds of a rushing river....

breathtaking literally. but the walking was tiring as well...who cares....we were enjoying this trek. suddenly through the woods emerged a YHAI welcome signboard.....and in the distance....shouts of joy of having spotted tents...

as we reached....it was TOO cold....but the campsite was picturesque...wild horses ran around....a small makeshift canteen where again tea and maggie and omlet were available...

as soon as we reached....small pieces of snow began falling...a HAIL FALL!! awesome!
in that snowfall and cold temperature....huddled up inside the canteen drinking hot tea....with friends...nothing beats that moment....

it was too cold to stay outside...the snow patches were coming nearer at progressive campsites....i sat on a log of wood a little far away from campsite and enjoyed the peace and jungle sounds....that place seemed full of energy...gave me a lot of peace sitting there...

the cake-walk camps were hereby declared to be closed...as the next day was supposed to be the toughest most gruelling hardcore trek to RATAPANI....this was where the best physically fit also were left challenged..so i was wondering about myself....again imagining what worse could happen.

bournvita and lights off....with shivering all night...i hardly got any sleep or warmth. this was the night when my health started going down a bit...sore throat and slight cold....

sleeping bags are NOT warm...remember that my friends....

xoxo
