food and more!!!

this is just great! when mom and dad came to the conclusion that i am not ready for home-cooking and its okay for me because i chose a professional career over anything else.....i refused to join in their laughter...

they really dont mind me not cooking, not knowing how to cook and stuff....they were never the forceful types...i am a free bird at my home. but then i thought to myself---HOW HARD CAN COOKING BE ANYWAY?...

cooking is not rocket science afterall, and anyone who can study dentistry or MBBS for 4 years can do ANYTHING else and is upto any other challenge.

coming directly to the point, i took a deep breath and promised the family that i would make food thursday evening. i did it because after dropping this bombshell promise i would have to get down to it and make it...

and then when the time finally came i was prepared...
so there was KADAI PANEER, JEERA PULAV, PARATHAS...all made in 2 hours by the rookie cook...MOI.

i cannot tell you how much people loved it, and how much surprised i was...i feel capable of anything now! see? give me 5 full days and i can learn all sorts of cooking. so that aspect of "marriage" according to "social norms" is well taken care of. not that i care....because i dont think the decision of marriage with anybody should be based on cooking skills...like it has aways been.

cooking can be a fun activity shared by both partners and can be made romantic....kitchen can be very romantic for those who know how to :) :)....
its no longer a "girls thing"....but if anyone tells me i cannot cook, AFTER TODAY i will stand up to any challenge!!!!

whats next???? making a spacecraft???!!! im coming!!! lol

xoxo

  2. You funny ans sweet.. you right cooking is not rocket science.. i look at it as something similar to chem experiments... you just have to know what the substance do when mixed together... Now i do expect a home cooked meal when i am visiting next... Which only god knows when it will be!!! But now experiment on other cuisines.. I find Nita Mehta easy to follow! ;) All the best sweetie..
